Maidstone Malayalee Association to celebrate Women’s Day and Mother’s Day on March 13

MAIDSTONE Feb 14: Maidstone Malayalee Association will celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day on March 13. MMA’s efforts are to strengthen social ties by facing adversity with courage.

MMA kicks off this year’s activities with new avenues of survival from Maidstone, the heartland of Kent, which was rocked by Covid’s second coming. MMA is unique in that it co-hosts International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day online under the auspices of Maitri, the women’s wing of the association.

UK-based author and poet Beena Roy will deliver the message at an online event on Saturday, March 13 at 4pm. Kalabhavan Nice, a renowned UK choreographer and artist, will officiate the official inauguration of the MMA Youth Club, which kicks off this year.

On the occasion of Women’s Day, Maithri will present various art programs and various children’s programs led by the Youth Club as part of Mother’s Day. The MMA Committee hopes that the ‘Antakshari Competition’ organized for the members will be a new experience with the message of facing the crises of time with confidence.

President Raji Kurian said the association had received a message from Hon’ble MP Helen Grant congratulating MMA on its charitable activities and wishing them a happy March 13 celebrations.

The office bearers informed that the association is committed to work together for the social upliftment of the members without giving up hope in the midst of crises. The March 13 event will be led by Maitri Coordinator Lincy Kurian and Youth Club Coordinators Anthony Xavier and Sneha Baby.
