Malayalee health care worker dismissed by Care Home for sleeping while on night duty

By A Staff Reporter

LONDON April 17: A care home in Surrey has dismissed a healthcare worker for seen by other colleagues sleeping while on night duty work.

The Malayalee care worker denies that he has slept while at work.

However, the care home findings reveal that he was seen to be sleeping on the lounge floor with a mattress and pillow. This was reported to the care home management by another staff member.

The Malayalee care worker, who never had any previous wrongdoings and was never warned for anything, was dismissed by the care home with just a report from another staff member.

The care worker appealed but the decision of the care home to dismiss him was upheld as the care home went by the report submitted by another staff member.

The care home will now report the care worker to the Home Office who will in turn issue a letter asking the care worker to leave the UK within 60 days.

Allow jobless overseas healthcare workers in UK to stay for one year CLICK TO SIGN PETITION

Several health care workers who arrived in UK are left without jobs as their sponsors are unable to provide them with one or that there wasn’t a job available for them when they arrived. Some firms lose their licence to sponsor due to their own mistakes.

People in the UK who lost their sponsorship are only permitted to stay 60 days. 60 days is a very short notice for a family to arrange departure as it could unsettle their children’s schooling, lead to loss of rent or deposit, furnishing costs, air ticket and relocation costs. The request is to extend jobless health workers’ stay in the UK for one more year for them to secure another job.
