Indians holding valid passports with less than 6 months validity eligible to travel to India (Press Note)

LONDON May 1: In a notification issued in March 2022 by the Indian High Commission in London it stated that those with valid Indian passports looking to travel to India can do so even if they have a passport which is valid for less than six months.

“Indian travellers bearing valid passports and travel documents with less than six months validity are eligible to travel to India. It is requested that airlines and immigration authorities may facilitate the same, said a press note from the Indian High Commission in London”, said a press note from the Indian High Commission.

Normally, the 6-month passport rule states that your passport must be valid for another six months before you depart for international travel. However, this notification may be as a result of a backlog or delay in processing Indian passports. Please click to see notification below:
