Indian-Origin Krishangi Meshram Becomes Youngest Solicitor in England and Wales at 21

LONDON Aug 25: Indian-origin law graduate Krishangi Meshram has become the youngest practising solicitor in England and Wales in recent years, achieving the milestone at just 21 years old.

Born in West Bengal and raised in the ISKCON Mayapur community, Meshram completed secondary school at 15 before moving on to higher education. That same year, she enrolled at The Open University in Milton Keynes, graduating only three years later with a First Class Honours Degree in Law, making her the youngest law graduate in the institution’s history.

Following her degree in 2022, Meshram secured a role at an international law firm and went on to broaden her expertise through global programmes at Harvard Online, as well as professional experience in Singapore. She is now pursuing opportunities in both the UK and the UAE.

Reflecting on her journey, Meshram credited The Open University for allowing her an early start. “It was during my studies that I not only laid the academic foundation for my legal career but also discovered a deep and lasting passion for the law,” she said.

Her legal interests span fintech, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and private client services such as wills and probate. She aims to specialise in business and client-focused legal work, with long-term ambitions to practise at leading UK or UAE firms and to build expertise in emerging digital technologies.

The Open University highlighted her achievement earlier this week in a feature titled “Law grad Krishangi makes history once again.”
