UK Malayalee’s debut film wins Best Film and Best First Time Director award at London Independent Film Awards

LONDON March 27: UK Malayalee Suresh Unnikrishnan’s debut film Ezhuthola (A saga of alphabets) has fetched him the Best First Time Director award and Best Foreign Film Award at the London Independent Film Awards, an IMDB qualifying monthly festival with annual screenings, recognising and awarding the work of independent filmmakers worldwide.

The film ezhuthola depicts a beautiful era of traditional education which is a very student and teacher oriented process. Ezhuthola discusses how modern technical and digital oriented education outvaluing the traditional education. It elicits thoughts on how modern society can find a fine line between the two systems by saving the values of both systems.

Suresh Unnikrishnan is a writer and director from Kerala settled in the UK. Pursuing a career as a solicitor in England and Wales, he has lived in the UK for the past 15 years. His relentless contact with the people around him, especially immigrants, immensely contributes to his creativity. As a director and scriptwriter, his interest and research helped him to write scripts of life and contemporary minds. Two movies are in the process for the year 2023 in under his creativity.

Ezhuthola is produced by noted Malayalam actor T Shanker under the banner of Otio Entertainments LLP. This is the first movie produced by Shanker’s new production company and Jaimes Mathew (London) is the executive producer.
