Two Keralite nurses die a day in the UK; Farewell to Jaisamma of Erdington and Jane of Glasgow

LONDON October 31: The death of two Malayalee nurses have saddened the Malayalees in the UK.

The deceased are Kottayam Poonjar Padannamakkal Tommy Lucose’s wife Jaisamma Abraham (56) and Kottayam Neezhoor native Philip Joseph’s wife Jane Philip (56), Malayalam news portals reported.

Jaisamma, who was admitted to the hospital with cancer, was tested positive for Corona too.

Malayalees in and around Birmingham have come to comfort the family members after learning of Jaisamma’s death. Alan Abraham is the only son.

Jaisamma and Tommy were active members of Sehion UK. Jaisamma worked as a staff nurse.

Jain Philip (56), wife of Philip Joseph, a native of Neezhoor, Kottayam, is another Malayalee who passed away yesterday.

Jain was undergoing treatment for cancer. She has been working as a staff nurse in Glasgow for the past 16 years. Children are Jobin Phillip and Joel Phillip.

Several relatives, including Jim Jacob, Jain’s brother, who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, were present with Jain during her last minutes.

Three Keralites have in the UK in last two days. A Uzhavoor native, who was in the UK to visit his children, too died in London day before yesterday. Uzhavoor Korattikunnel Lakshmanan Nair, 75, who was staying with his son in Chelmsford, London, has died. He died of a heart attack. He was retired from the Revenue Department. He arrived in London with his wife six months ago.
