Chelsea clinches Champions League title: Keralites too can be proud of Vinay Menon’s journey from Cherai

LONDON May 30: Chelsea clinched the Champions League title on Saturday after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the all-English football final. Chelsea are celebrating being crowned Champions League winners for only the second time after a memorable victory over Manchester City in Porto on Saturday night.

Keralites all over the world too can be proud, as it has its very own contribution to the club through Vinay Menon, who is the club’s Wellness consultant, based at Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge, London.

In 2019 the New York Times carried an article about Vinay Menon titled “The Yoga Master Who Might Be Chelsea’s Secret Weapon, Vinay Menon moved to London to work for Roman Abramovich. The owner soon introduced him to his most prized asset. And the players started to listen”. It looks like the predictions have come true with Chelsea’s successes.

Vinay Menon, born in Cherai in Kochi, lives with his wife Flomny Menon and son Abhay in London.

Just after the Champions League win on Saturday night, Flomny Vinay Menon took to post the below on Facebook which received numerous congratulatory messages. “Proud of You. It’s our dream come true. From “Cherai to Chelsea” you made it, as part of history forever and ever. Can’t wait to celebrate”, she wrote.
