LONDON June 28: An Indian shop which celebrated its first anniversary only on April this year, is on the verge of closure due to continuous issues caused by yobs aged below 16, who enter the shop and steal things. There is also a racist tone in the incidents where kids are prompted to shout out to the owners expletives laden with extreme racism, according to the shopowners.

The shopowner has lodged numerous complaints with the police and all their attempts have failed as these are all aged below 16. This gives the yobs and their parents the liberty to let these children roam free and abuse and cause damages to the shop, says the owners.

Video footages on social media shows the young kids stealing from the shop in front of the shopowner. The shopowners are helpless as they are left with no option to but to call the police as these are all youngsters below the age of 16.

However, by the time the police arrive the kids have disappeared. Fed up with the behaviour of the yobs and with not much help from the law enforcement team, the shopowners have now posted a video on their Facebook page and also on Essex Crime Watch which has now been shared widely on social media.

Speaking to this website the shopowner has said that he has lost a huge amount in repairs, man hours lost and also unable to sustain any staff members in the span of two weeks with him having to keep changing employees and also due to the damages and issues caused by these youngsters.

The shop posted the CCTV footage to its Facebook page and Essex Crime Watch page urging anyone with any information to contact the police as a matter of urgency. The footage has gained a large amount of traction on social media, being shared more than 600 times and attracting hundreds of comments.

This website made contacts with John Baron CBE, MP for Basildon and Billericay who replied to us stating: “I was saddened to hear about this incident and, having made enquiries, understand that the necessary investigations are being undertaken by Essex Police – they will be in contact with the owners accordingly.”

Speaking to this website yesterday, the owners of the shop informed us that Essex Police have been in touch with them and informed them that two of the girls involved in the issues within the shop were interviewed but the boys havent been identified yet.

Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a theft from a shop in Basildon. “It was reported a group of 13 people went into a store in Westgate Park at 7.10pm on Thursday 15 June. Police have issued a notice for anyone with evidence to come forward quoting Crime reference number: 42/106915/23.
