Jomesh and Isaac duo win all UK badminton tournament hosted by Maidstone Malayalee Association

Antony Saviour MAIDSTONE Oct 21: Jomesh-Isaac duo from Northampton won the all UK Men's Doubles Badminton Tournament organized by the Maidstone Malayalee Association, a prominent Malayalee group in Kent. In the final, they defeated Jason and Robin in straight sets to lift the trophy. Sebastian-Ebin duo from Tunbridge Wells took third place and Reiko-Jean from Stoke-on-Trent took fourth place. MMA President Raji Kurian inaugurated the tournament which started at the Badminton Stadium at St Augustine Academy on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 am. About 40 teams from across the UK took part in the tournament. The group level matches, which were played in groups of eight, proceeded simultaneously on five courts. The performance of several strong teams, including the promising Johann-Joel duo from London, was an unforgettable experience for the spectators. The champions received £301 sponsored by HC24 Healthcare Staffing and trophies instituted by MMA. The runner-up team received £201 and trophies sponsored by Paul John Solicitors, while the third place team received £101 sponsored by Remy Group London and trophies and the fourth place team received £51 and trophies from Victory Heating and Plumbing Maidstone. MMA President Raji Kurian, Secretary Binu George, Treasurer Renju Varghese, Program Coordinator Baiju Daniel, Sports Coordinator Anthony Xavier, Maitri Co-ordinator Lincy Kurian and KCA President Benny Joseph distributed the prizes to the winners. MMA thanked all the sports talents from all over the UK and the match officials, referees, court managers, MMA Alliance, Youth Club and Men's Club for their participation in this event, which was a feast of speed for sports enthusiasts.
