Funeral of Haridas held in the presence of close family members: Watch video of funeral service
LONDON April 13: Thekkummuri Haridas, former official of the Indian High Commission in London, Loka Kerala Sabha presidium member, prominent businessman in London, Chairman of the OICC UK and Chairman of the Guruvayoorappa Temple Committee in London, passed away on March 24, 2021 at 1 am at Tooting St. George’s Hospital. While serving in the Indian High Commission in the UK for more than four and a half decades, he did his best to help Indians, including Malayalees, who came to the UK without any hesitation. His presence was evident in several charities. The body was laid for the public to pay respects on 10th & 11th April 2021 at the Asian Funeral Care, 66-67 Monarch Parade, London Road, Mitcham, CR4 3HB. Dignitaries from across the UK’s political, social and cultural circles paid their last respects. The funeral was held on 12th April 2021 with pooja ceremonies held from 9:30am followed with the cremation held at 1pm. Only close family members were allowed to take part in the funeral due to Covid restrictions.
