UK Malayalee writer’s debut book to be released by renowned director Adoor Gopalakrishnan in Kerala

LONDON April 24: Manambur Suresh, a noted journalist based in the UK, will launch his debut book titled Ray muthal London Festival (From Ray to London Festival), will be held at Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on Saturday 29th April at 4.30pm.

The book, “From Ray to the London Festival”, will be released by renowned film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan in the event presided by another noted literati Prof MN Karassery.

“This work by Manambur Suresh will be enjoyable and worthy of study for film buffs, students and critics themselves,” wrote Adoor Gopalakrishnan in the preface to the book, published by Fabian Books.

National Award-winning director M P Sukumaran Nair, renowned cinematographer and director Sunny Joseph, planning board member Dr. K.S. Ravi Raman, scriptwriter and writer S Bhasurachandran, V Sasikumar, News18 TV political correspondent Kiran Babu, Biju Odessa Films and others will speak on the occasion. All are invited to the event.

For Manambur Suresh, covering the London Film Festival press as a delegate, one of the major festivals in the world for forty-one years (from 1982 to 2023), is a rare record. During this period he wrote about all those Malayalam films that participated in this world-class film festival.

Manambur Suresh’s book ‘Ray to The London Festival’ is also a celebration of the achievements of Malayalam cinema. It also includes studies and interviews on the images of the masters of world cinema.

Studies on this book will also be conducted in Manambur, Kollam and Kozhikode. The release in England will take place in London, while the book release in Northern Ireland will take place in Belfast in July 2023.
