Milton Keynes Malayalee Association celebrates Spring Fest showcasing art and culture

MILTON KEYNES May 9: Milton Keynes Malayalee Association (MIKMA) hosted their Spring Fest event with Kerala food, cultural programmes and dinner on May 6 at Stantonbury School, Stantonbury Milton Keynes MK14 6BN.

MIKMA’s celebrations of Vishu, Easter and Eid conincided with the Coronation weekend and thus it doubled the festive cheer within the community.

The cultural programmes were witnessed by scores of community members from across the UK.

The inauguration of the event was done by those visiting parents from Kerala.

Dr Suresh Menon welcomed all through his inaugural speech.

Milton Keynes Deputy Mayor Cllr Mick Legg & Deputy Mayoress Mrs Mandy Legg graced the occasion which not only introduced the older generation of the MIKMA family to the new generation, but also introduced them to the art and cultural heritage of Kerala.

Justin, the epitome of MIKMA’s youth, gave a passionate speech where he highlighted the concept of MIKMA as and organisation and its future.

MIKMA, which is entering its 20th year, has demonstrated the importance it gives to art and culture and how to turn them into life-long friendships.

MIKMA’s performances this year turned out to be of the highest standard with very new ideas.

The performance of Libin Alexander, Ninita Thomas and Dia Prince on stage was highly appreciated and took the programmes to another level.

MIKMA Secretary Vestin Cheerothy proposed the vote of thanks.
