Keralite student dies in car accident in UK: Police launch investigation

LONDON April 29: A 33-year-old student from Kerala has died following a car accident in the UK.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 25, in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. According to Sussex Police, the crash took place between 9:15 pm and 9:25 pm BST on the High Street, outside the Priory Group’s Ticehurst House hospital.

Reports indicate that Benhar was driving a red Mazda RX-8 when the vehicle left the road and crashed while heading eastbound toward Ticehurst village.

The deceased has been identified as Benhar Bernard, a native of Bershi Nivas, Vettucaud, in Thiruvananthapuram. He was the son of Mr. Charles Bernard and retired headmistress Mrs. Prasheela Bernard of St. Mary’s LPS, Vettucaud. His brother is Baze Bernard.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area prior to the collision to come forward.
