Kerala bus operator Kallada Travels owner issues press release after staff arrested

Kochi April 23 : The Kerala police on last day arrested Jayesh, Girilal and Jithin , staff of Kallada Travel for assaulting passengers on board.

According to the reports, the bus, which was traveling from Haripad to Bengaluru thrashed two passengers and forced them our of the bus on the wee hours of Sunday morning.

A video of the private bus company staff’s beating the passengers on board went viral in social media after another commuter posted it on face book. Meanwhile, the Transport Commission had asked the authorities to suspend the permit of the bus.

In the midst of social media outrage, Suresh Kallada issued a press release accepting the assault of their employees on passengers. The employees related to the incident has been suspended. They also expressed their regret in the notice.
The passengers had thrashed the employees near Haripad when the bus had to be stopped due to some mechanical fault. One employee had to undergo five stitches. An alternate was made available within two hours.
When this bus reached Vyttila, some passengers got off the bus and assaulted the night duty staff.
