Boots Opticians launch free eye tests and glasses for everyone

LONDON March 7: Boots Opticians have just announced they’ll do your eye test – and help you out with finding a decent pair of specs – for free.

The catch? It’s only happening for one day only, on Monday 11th March.

On Monday 11th March, free eye and frame appointments will be available at 15 select Boots Opticians across the country, but as there’s only 600 appointments available, we heavily recommend booking.

The number of appointments per store varies, depending on availability, and to book an appointment, you’ll need to either call or drop-in to a participating Boots Opticians store from Thursday 7th March and quote ‘Frame Amnesty’.

But with very limited slots available, appointments will be given on a first come first served basis – so sadly once they’re gone, they’re gone.

The appointment includes a free eye test and personalised style consultation, with the first pair of glasses free when you swap an old pair, and any additional pairs half-price.

If you do miss out on an appointment at Boots, or can’t do Monday 11th, Optical Express have Optical Express launch free eye tests for everyone as long as you go this month all through March, although frames aren’t included.

The freebie giveaway follows new research from the opticians that over 4 million women in the UK have not had their eyes tested in five or more years.

On top of that, half of people revealed that they either avoid wearing glasses due to feeling self-conscious or simply find it hard to choose ones that suit them.
