All credit to my family and friends, Mohanlal on receiving Padma Bhushan

NEW DELHI March 12: Actor Mohanlal is the pride of Kerala. By receiving the Padma Bhushan Award from President Ram Nath Kovind at a function held at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, he has raised up the pride and dignity of Malayalam films.

This is the first time a Malayali actor is receiving Padma Bhushan after Evergreen Hero Prem Nazir.

After receiving the award, he responded
“This is the second time I am getting a Padma Award. I was conferred Padma Shri in 2000. The Government of India bestows us an award for our work or for our actions. It’s a great honour.
It’s a great achievement as an individual and as an actor. This is my 41st year in the film industry. I’m giving all the credit to my family, colleagues, and fans for supporting me in this journey.”
When asked, “Did you meet any of our leaders after receiving the award, the actor immediately asked ‘that means’ and said ‘I don’t have any politics. I want everyone and all parties are mine’.
Apart from Mohanlal, musician K G Jayan, Prabu deva, political leaders including Karia Munda, Dr Maman Chandy received the Padma Awards. The Padma Awards were announced for 112 persons.
The Awards were presented to 56 people. Keralites who was conferred Padma Awards will be given a reception at the Kerala House this evening.
