CROYDON May 8: Pranav, a seven-year-old star from Croydon, successfully completed a 88km bike ride from London-Hayes to Brighton with his BigFoot cycling club and has raised more than £1,500 for his school (Park Hill Junior School, Croydon).

On May 4, 2019 Pranav started the bike ride at 8.50am and finished at 6.10pm bagging the ‘youngest rider’ to have completed the event this year.

Pranav Anish started riding bicycle at the age of 5 and that passion led him to take this challenge up for a noble cause.

Park Hill Junior School, Croydon (PHJS) is currently overhauling their curriculum and will need new books and resources for children.

The funds raised by Pranav will be used to enrich curricular & exra-curricular activities, which includes improving learning experience of pupils with interactive sessions from scientists, authors and athletes.

Pranav achieved this challenging and tiring task along with 115+ cyclists from his ‘Big Foot’ Cycling Club. There were times when Pranav almost gave up after reaching the 80th km which is further continued by a big uphill called Devils Dyke.

Pranav was motivated and cheered up by his group leader and trainer Sanjay Lalwani to magically complete the final stretch. Inspite of heavy rains and cold weather, his confidence and passion led him to successfully complete the 88 km ride.

Pranav Anish is the only son of Anish Unnikrishnan and Soumya Rajagopal who work in the IT/Banking sector in London.

Today more kids are inspired by his achievement and he is hailed as a hero in his school and local community.
