LONDON Oct 26: The much-anticipated KALA Annual is just around the corner, scheduled for the 28th October, and this year, KALA is thrilled to be back in the vibrant town of Berkhamsted. This event promises a day filled with inspiration, cultural richness, and a powerful message of community empowerment.

One of the highlights of the event will be the fascinating journey of Padmasree Dr. G Shankar, a visionary architect and a tireless advocate for sustainable architecture. Prepared to be entranced by the renowned exponents of Indian classical dance, Shri N Srikanth and Smt Aswathy Nair, as they present “Samavesha”.

This unique performance artfully weaves together Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattom to portray the complex gender conflicts in the epic Mahabharata.

Sri. N. Srikanth, a Bharatnatyam talent, effortlessly transforms into Brihannala, embodying both feminine elegance and masculine heroism.

Smt. Aswathy Nair, a virtuoso in various dance styles, will take you on an emotional rollercoaster as Shikhandi, showcasing her impeccable stagecraft. Prepare to witness the art of Abhinaya taken to the stratosphere by this celebrated couple!

For those arriving by train, Berkhamsted is the nearest station. There’s a direct train from London Euston, which will have you in Berkhamsted in just 30 minutes. From the station, it’s a leisurely 10-minute walk to the venue.

If you’re driving, use the postcode HP4 3DW and follow the signs for “KALA Parking”. Ample parking is available at the Preparatory School car park located on Doctor’s Common Road. Just take the steps down from the car park to reach the venue.
