UK journalist Manambur Suresh’s book ‘From Ray to London Festival’ released in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 21: Journalist Manambur Suresh’s ‘From Ray to London Festival’ was released in Kerala recently where noted literati attended.

Speaking during the launch noted write and director Adoor Gopalakrishnan said that Manambur Suresh’s book ‘From Ray to London Festival’ gives readers an experience of the London Film Festival, which holds a crucial place in the world’s film festivals and to the connoisseurs.

He opined that Suresh has written in heartwarming terms about the films and their crews at the London Film Festival. He said that he was proud to be able to write the foreword of the book.

Covering a film as a media delegate at a film festival for 41 years is a rare record.

Writer and critic MN Karaseri, who presided over the event, said that Manambur Suresh’s book is a source of pride for all Malayalis. He added that the book will help in developing film awareness and political vision.

Director MP Sukumaran received the first copy of the book.

Literary critic Pradeep Panangad introduced the book. State planning board member Dr Ravi Raman, Kerala Journalists Union General Secretary R Kiran Babu, senior media person PV Murugan, BG Odesa, Gaurinath and others spoke during the event.

The book is published by Fabian Books.
