LONDON March 30: Internationally renowned solo musician Charles Antony, who rose to fame after he regaled late football legend Diego Maradona when he came to Kerala in 2012, has now relocated to the UK.

A favourite with those who love the allure classics, Charles sings in 18 languages and his repertoire includes over 1,000 classical songs.

He plays his guitar and harmonica while singing sans any accompanying musicians.

Charles always opted to go solo as an artiste because according to him: “I have a deep bass voice, which suits the popular songs of yesteryears. I get an attentive audience who immerse themselves in the allure of the songs. When I sing, there is complete silence; I have been told that they experience a positive, uplifting effect, when they listen to me.”

Charles is also known for his extensive knowledge about English classics and has a wide repertoire of songs in his kitty. “In the last six years, I have been learning more foreign language songs and researching further on English classics to add to my repertoire. This sets me apart from my contemporaries,” shares the performer

The musician’s knowledge of foreign languages comes from meeting tourists, jotting down the lyrics, recording the tune and practising it.

Charles’s association with Mohanlal is well known as he is a regular at Mohanlal’s family functions. He has also sung for cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Glenn McGrath.

Charles Antony will be performing at a charity musical event titled Song’s Safari, which will be his first Live performance in UK on Friday 31st March from 7pm to 10pm at Cross Keys Pub 13 Earle St Liverpool L3 9NS

Charles will also be performing at the WMC Biennial conference from 28th April to 30th April at APA Hotel Woodbridge 120 S Wood Avenue Iselin NJ 08830.
