8th All-UK Northampton Badminton Tournament Concludes with Record Attendance

NORTHAMPTON Dec 22: The 8th All-UK Northampton Badminton Tournament was successfully held on 20 December 2025 at Caroline Chisholm School, Northampton. This annual sporting event, exclusively organised for the Malayalee community across the UK, once again showcased exceptional talent, sportsmanship, and strong community spirit.

The tournament was organised under the strong leadership of Jini Thomas, supported by a dedicated organising committee comprising Pious Joseph, Aju Louise, Jithu Thomas, Nidhin Poulose, Simy Jose, Suja Jini, and Midhu Varghese. Their collective efforts ensured a well-structured, professionally managed, and smoothly executed event.

A major highlight of the day was the esteemed presence of the Vice Chairman of Northampton Council, Councillor Peter York, whose attendance added great prestige to the tournament. This marked the first time a councillor attended a badminton tournament of this kind, making the occasion particularly memorable for both organisers and participants.

After a day of highly competitive matches, Anil and Johan emerged as the champions of the tournament. The runners-up title was claimed by Abin and Shan, while Anon and Levin secured the third runner-up position. Winners were presented with cash prizes and trophies during the award ceremony.

The tournament attracted large crowds of supporters from across England, who enthusiastically followed the matches throughout the day. The event received widespread appreciation for its excellent organisation, disciplined scheduling, and timely completion, reflecting the professionalism and dedication of the organising team.

During the final award ceremony, Aju Louise, Rosbin Rajan, Treasurer of Reform Northampton, and Councillor Peter York addressed the gathering and praised the organisers for delivering a high-quality sporting event that strengthened community bonding and encouraged active participation.
