Three senior citizens pass away in East Ham in a span of five days

EAST HAM (London) Dec 21: Three deaths in a span of a week has put the Christmas holiday period in turmoil for the bereaving families.

With Christmas holidays looming the three deaths have also left the families to wait for the funeral to be worked out amidst the chaos caused by the new Omicron variant.

The three senior citizens who passed away in a weeks time were P. Sivanandan who passed away on 15/12/2021, Rugmini Amma Pillai on 17/12/2021 and Subashini Karunakaran on 19/12/2021.

P. Sivanandan (91) of Macaulay Road, East Ham passed away on Wednesday 15/12/2021. Sivanandan is from Chavarcode near Paripally in Kollam district back home.

Sivanandan started his life at Naval Base in Singapore, where he worked as a mechanical fitter and migrated to UK after 1965.

He leaves behind three children, Shine, Shiji and Preet. Shine is married to Mini and Shiji and Preet are unmarried. His wife passed away in 2014.

Rugmini Amma Pillai (86), residing at Woodbridge Road in Ilford, passed away at the King George Hospital in Ilford on Friday 17/12/2021.

Back home in Kerala Rugmini Amma was from Nelakanda Nilayam, Navaikulam in Thiruvanthapuram district.

Rugmini Amma leaved behind children Vijayakumari, Pradeep and Dileep, their spouses and grandchildren. Rugmini Amma Pillai’s husband is Late Neelakanta Pillai.

Viewing times are from 2pm to 4.30pm on Wednesday 22nd December at the at T Cribb & Sons Victoria House, 10 Woolwich Manor Way Beckton London E6 5PA.

Funeral will be held on Thursday 23rd December 2021. Rituals will commence from 10am at T Cribb & Sons Victoria House, 10 Woolwich Manor Way Beckton London E6 5PA.

Cremation services and funeral will take place at 11.30am at the City of London Crematorium North Chapel, Aldersbrook Road London E12 5DQ.

After the service the family has requested to join them for wake/lunch at Kerala House, 671 Romford Road London E12 5AD.

Subashini Karunakaran (86) passed away peacefully on Sunday (19/12/2021) at her residence in Barkingside in Ilford.

Subashini Karunakaran is wife of Late V Karunakaran and from Vettoor near Varkala.

She leaves behind three children Sulatha Sambasivan, Sudharsanan Karunakaran and the youngest Sajith Karunakaran, their spouses and grandchildren.
