Snake enters stadium and stops cricket match between India and South Africa (Video)

MUMBAI Oct 3: The second T20I between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati was interrupted after a snake made its way onto the field of play.

The snake was spotted after the end of the seventh over, with one of the umpires spotting the animal. As spinner Keshav Maharaj was running in to bowl to KL Rahul, he was asked to stop by the umpire who gestured towards the snake.

The game was then paused while members of the ground staff ran on with a long pole and a bucket to try and remove it.

The players initially looked on in apparent disbelief, before Rahul and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock were seen sharing a laugh while the ground staff attempted to catch the snake.

The snake was swiftly removed and the game was able to continue.

India beat South Africa and won the series.
