Indian Prime Minister Modi arrives in Germany: Will visit Denmark and France

NEW DELHI May 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the first leg of his three-nation visit with a rousing welcome from the Indian community as he arrived in Germany today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is travelling to Germany, Denmark and France from May 2 to 4.

PM Modi landed at Berlin-Brandenburg airport in Germany early this morning. The Prime Minister then went to Hotel Adlon Kempinski, where he interacted with the members of the Indian community amid the chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.

He also spoke to the children, who were accompanying their parents at the hotel.

In Germany, PM Modi will hold detailed bilateral discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and co-chair the India-Germany inter-governmental consultations.

In their meeting on Monday, Scholz and PM Modi will discuss how to further ease immigration rules for skilled workers from India to tackle labour shortages in Europe’s largest economy, and how to accelerate technology transfer to India in the push to reduce climate-damaging carbon emissions.

PM Modi is also scheduled to visit Denmark on Tuesday to hold talks with leaders from Nordic countries, along with other high-level interactions.

His three-nation visit will conclude with a stopover in Paris on Wednesday where the Prime Minister will meet the newly re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron.

PM Modi is expected to address the Indian Diaspora in Berlin as well as Copenhagen.

Apart from bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries, two power-packed events have also been planned

Prime Minister Narender Modi is visiting Germany, Denmark and France at a time when the Ukraine issue continues to occupy the attention of most European leaders.
