Ballot entry date to apply for visa for India Young Professionals Scheme opens on Feb 28 and closes on March 2

LONDON Feb 21: If you’re an Indian citizen and you’re eligible for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa then you can enter the ballot when it opens at 2:30pm India Standard Time on 28 February 2023, and closes at 2:30pm India Standard Time on 2 March.

The Young Professionals Scheme is for Indian nationals aged between 18 and 30 who has graduate or post graduate qualifications. The ballot will randomly select ballot entrants and if successful, will invite you to submit your visa application. Those who have not been invited will not be eligible to apply this time around.

The scheme would offer 3,000 places annually to eligible Indians to live and work in the UK for up to two years.

Entering the ballot
You can enter the ballot if you’re an Indian citizen and you’re eligible for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa. Check you’re eligible before entering the ballot.

You must enter the ballot online. You will need to provide your:

name
date of birth
passport details
a scan or photo of your passport
phone number
email address

The successful entries will be picked at random. You will be sent the results by email within 2 weeks of the ballot closing.

It’s free to enter the ballot. You should only enter if you plan to apply for the visa, which costs £259, and are able to meet the financial, educational and other requirements.

Successful entries
There are 2,400 visas available in the February ballot.

If you’re successful in the ballot, you will be invited to apply for a visa.

You will have 30 days from the date of the email to apply online, pay the visa application fee and immigration health surcharge.

If you’re successful in the ballot but choose not to apply for the visa, you do not need to notify us.

Unsuccessful entries
The results of the ballot are final. You cannot appeal if you’re unsuccessful.

You can enter future ballots if you’re unsuccessful. The next ballot is likely to be held in late July. Details will be announced on this page closer to the time.

If you do not enter the February ballot, you can enter future ballots if you meet the requirements.

Eligibility
To be eligible for an India Young Professionals Scheme visa you must:

be an Indian national or citizen between 18 and 30 years old
be at least 18 years old on the date you plan to travel to the UK
have a qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above (Regulated Qualifications Framework level 6, 7 or 8)
have £2,530 in savings to support yourself in the UK
not have any children under the age of 18 who live with you or who you’re financially responsible for
You must first apply to and be selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot before you can apply for your visa.

You cannot apply if you’ve already been in the UK under this scheme or the Youth Mobility Scheme visa.

Eligible qualifications
You must have either:

a qualification at UK bachelor’s degree level or above (Regulated Qualifications Framework level 6, 7 or 8)
an equivalent overseas qualification at degree level or above
Check with your college or university if you’re not sure what level of qualification you have.

Money to support yourself
You must have at least £2,530 in your bank account to show you can support yourself in the UK.

You will need to have had the money available for at least 28 days in a row. Day 28 must be within 31 days of applying for this visa.
