LONDON Dec 8: Deekshaa’s ‘Anarkali, an epic love, larger than life’ will be premiered today (Thursday 8th December) at 6pm (UK) and 11.30pm (India) on Deekshaa’s YouTube channel.

‘Anarkali, an epic love, larger than life’ is a musical drama, based on the story of Anarkali, a court dancer of emperor Akbar’s palace, who fell in love with the crown prince Salim (later known as Emperor Jahangir).

The story depicts the situations that led to Anarkali & Salim falling in love with each other and the consequences they faced, as a result of their forbidden love.

The story is from the Mughal era, when women did not have certain rights which were freely exercised by men at the time. This musical drama is a combination of beauty, love & politics.

This project is funded and supported by the Arts Council England (National Agency for the Development of Culture & The Arts).
