Sign petition for UK govt to fund Ayurveda treatment on NHS as complementary and alternative medicine

LONDON July 8: Ayurveda has a long tradition behind it, having originated in India 5,000 years ago. Today it remains a popular part of health care in large parts of the Eastern world, especially in India, where a large proportion of the population use this system.

Ayurveda, an alternative medicine system, derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to ‘knowledge of life’.

Man Mohan Abbott, is one who initiated and brought together all for “Ayurveda in the NHS” initiative. He is the voice of everyone who has been trying to advocate for Ayurveda to be integrated into mainstream medicine, who needs it, and who wants it to happen.

The ancient Indian Ayurveda Medical treatment is presently not available through NHS.

Man Mohan Abbott says: “We believe this treatment could help improve some patient’s quality of life, and has many treatment options available.

“We believe this treatment should be fully funded through NHS.

“Currently patients must self-fund, but we want the treatment to be available to all, not just to those who can afford it”.
