LONDON Dec 21: In a historic first, Kerala-based chocolate brand Paul and Mike has brought home the gold at the prestigious Academy of Chocolate Awards UK 2024. The innovative chocolatier made India proud by becoming the first Indian brand to win this esteemed accolade, placing the country on the global chocolate map.

Paul and Mike’s winning creation, Milk Chocolate Coated Salted Capers, showcases the brand’s commitment to both ethical sourcing and creative flavor combinations. This delectable treat combines capers from Tuticorin on India’s east coast with premium cacao from the lush Western Ghats, resulting in a harmonious fusion of East and West.

In addition to the gold-winning Milk Chocolate Coated Salted Capers, Paul and Mike also secured a bronze award for their Rum & Rummy Raisins Mild Dark Chocolate. Other homegrown Indian chocolate brands, Bon Fiction and Manam Chocolate, also made their mark at the Academy of Chocolate Awards UK 2024, bringing the total number of accolades for Indian chocolate products to 17.

This momentous achievement not only highlights the growing prominence of India’s chocolate industry on the world stage but also underscores the immense potential of the country’s burgeoning artisanal chocolate movement.

By combining traditional ingredients with cutting-edge techniques, these pioneering brands are redefining the landscape of fine chocolate, while also championing sustainability and ethical practices.
