Keralite students in UK repeat their excellence in GCSE with several bagging top grades

LONDON Aug 25: Students have received their GCSE results across England, Wales and Northern Ireland yesterday. Kerala students scored well as usual with many who have scored A-stars (equivalent) in all subjects and have achieved high marks.
Elsa Binto, an accomplished student at Altrincham Grammar for Girls, has achieved an extraordinary academic milestone. With remarkable success, she has attained the prestigious Grade 9 in several subjects, encompassing Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, English Literature, and German.
It is worth noting that her accomplishments extend beyond the mere attainment of Grade 9; Elsa has consistently achieved impressively high percentages in all her subjects, reflecting her dedication and academic prowess. While achieving an 8 in English Language, her overall performance remains outstanding.
Elsa’s academic journey is marked by gratitude as she acknowledges the blessings that have propelled her achievements. In tandem with her academic pursuits, Elsa’s mother, Landy Bintosimon, plays a pivotal role as a Patient Flow Coordinator at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. Her unwavering dedication mirrors Elsa’s commitment to her studies.
Continuing her academic journey, Elsa is embarking on A-level courses in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology at the esteemed institution. Beyond academics, her interests encompass reading, cycling, and playing the keyboard.
Significantly, Elsa serves as a teaching assistant at Dr Simon’s Academy, contributing to the preparation of students for grammar school entrance exams.

Anto Francis of Swansea Bishop von Catholic School in Wales scored a grade A star in all subjects. Anto Francis is the son of Francis Paul and Diana Francis, who migrated to the UK from Idukki’s Rajakkad.
Adarsh George who lives in London’s next Aldershot, has a top grade in all subjects. Adarsh is the eldest son of Aneesh George and Manju Aneesh. Adarsh, who is studying at the prestigious Wilson’s Grammar School, will pursue his A-level further studies there.
Avli Maria Santhosh from London scored grade 10 (double star) in all the 9 subjects she studied. She is a student of Dowy Martins Catholic School in London. Born and brought up in Dubai, Avli arrived in London in the middle of her year 10. In just one-and-a-half years of moving from CBSE to GCSE, Avli achieved this high feat and became a matter of great pride for the Indian Malayalees in the school. She is the daughter of Santhosh John of Vattappara in Kodancherry, Kozhikode and Shibi Mathew of Thannikkal family in Kannivayal. Austin and Edwin are brothers.
Sayooj Menon Sanjay of Buckinghamshire has secured grade 11 for all the 9 subjects selected. Sayooj has bagged the double-star award in religious studies, future Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, French, Spanish, English language, English literature and Mathematics. Sanjay, a native of Irinjalakuda in Thrissur, works in a bank in London and Rashmi, a native of Wadakkanchery in Palakkad, works in an investment firm.
Dion Josh of Warrington scored the highest score in nine subjects from St Gregory’s Catholic School in Warrington, Dio has written one of the school’s greatest successes in his name. Dion will go to Carmel College for further studies after opting for Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Dion now dreams of becoming a better pilot. Dion, the son of Josh and Jincy in Warrington, also has a sister named Donna. Donna is pursuing a master’s in biomedical engineering at Oxford.
Aldrich Jijo of Ipswich also scored gold in the GCSE exam. Out of the eleven subjects, Aldrich scored A stars and one A. Aldrick, a student of Colchester Royal Grammar School, is the son of Jijo Pinakkat and Manimala Manju. Jijo is a native of Bharananganam in the state. Manju is a native of Pala. Alden, a student of a private school in Ipswich, is his brother. Aldrich wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, who was a lawyer in Pala, to become a lawyer.
