Keralite couple’s argument escalates; wife stabs husband in fatal attack in London

ILFORD March 10: A disagreement between a young Keralite couple recently escalated into a violent incident resulting in the wife allegedly stabbing her husband, as reported by sources close to the matter.

The couple, believed to have arrived in the UK on a student visa just a year ago, was known to reside in a house shared by other Keralites.

The husband returned home following an argument earlier, which was purportedly due to marital suspicions, only to be confronted by his wife in a premeditated attack at their home in Iford, in east London.

The injury sustained by the victim was severe and potentially life-threatening, prompting the wife to call the authorities for medical assistance. As a result, she was taken into police custody.

The couple, who has two young children, now faces an uncertain future due to the legal implications of the incident. The husband, currently on a dependent visa, may be adversely affected by his wife’s arrest and subsequent charges.

This is not the first instance of violence between the couple, as revealed by one of their co-residents. A previous altercation resulted in a less serious injury, which was “stitched up” by a fellow Malayalee and thus did not appear on hospital records.

The gravity of the latest incident and the wife’s alleged admittance to the attack have likely escalated the situation beyond reconciliation.

The matter is further complicated by the involvement of other Malayalees residing in the same house, who are hesitant to provide further information as they may be called upon as witnesses in the legal proceedings.

While domestic violence incidents have been reported among UK Malayalees in the past, this is the first known case of a wife allegedly stabbing her husband. According to UK law, the woman may face conviction for attempted murder based on the severity of the assault and her suspected premeditation.
