Body of missing Keralite student Santra Saju found in water near Newbridge

EDINBURGH Dec 28: The body of Keralite student Santra Saju, who went missing from her home South Gyle area on December 6, has been found, police reports said.

Santra Saju, aged 22-year-old from Perumbavoor in Kerala came to Scotland to pursue her studies at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Police were informed of a body in the water near to Newbridge around 11.55am on Friday, December 27.

Formal identification has still to take place however the family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed.

Santra Saju, from the South Gyle area, was last seen at the Asda store in the Burnvale area of Livingston on Friday, December 6.

The death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The untimely passing of Santra Saju has left the Malayalee community in Scotland and the students and staff at Heriot-Watt University in profound sorrow.
