WhatsApp Group formed to enhance communication and collaboration among Keralite organisations in UK

LONDON May 23: During Malayalee Association of UK (MAUK)’s 50th Anniversary Registration Inaugural Ceremony on 24th March 2024 at Kerala House, the organisation leaders present agreed to establish a WhatsApp Group to enhance communication and collaboration among organisations serving the Malayalee Community.

Thus a WhatsApp group named ‘Collaborative Cove’ has been launched. Those interested can join after reading the rules set out. The link for the group is https://chat.whatsapp.com/IvVcSyYMerEI1XMiat8gi6

In a press note MAUK offical further explained reasons behind forming this group: “This year, we have noticed that some Onam celebrations are scheduled on the same day. The dates of Vithu Prathap and Vineeth Sreenivasan’s shows are clashing and there are also many other events happening simultaneously in proximity of each other. We are certain that all organisers want their shows to be successful and not be in competition. We are also certain that every organisation wants to serve their communities better with the limited resources they have and avoid duplication of services in the same area. Therefore, wouldn’t it be beneficial to explore the idea of having a dedicated WhatsApp group for communication, which could help in reducing or even preventing date clashes?

“We have noticed that shopkeepers in East Ham raise the prices of flowers and other essential items during the Onam season, and sell them at inflated prices to unsuspecting organizers from outside London. The new WhatsApp group can serve as a platform for collective bargaining and for importing items in bulk.

Collaborative Cove is designed to provide support without interfering with the freedom of individual organisations. It serves as a platform for learning from each other and improving our ability to serve our communities. We welcome all organisations to make use of this platform”.
