NSS UK Celebrates Vishu in London with Traditional Fervour

LONDON May 2: NSS UK hosted its annual Vishu celebrations last week at Woodbridge High School, St. Barnabas Road, Woodford Green, Essex IG8 7DQ, from 12 noon to 7 pm.

The festivities began with prayers and the traditional Vishu Kani, which lasted for 40 minutes, followed by Kaineettam, cultural programmes, and a grand Vishu Sadhya.

The gathering observed a moment of silence and paid tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in India.

A musical highlight of the event was a performance of Sreeragasudha by Dr. Manakkala Gopalakrishnan, RN Prakash, and Ratheesh Manoharan, which captivated the audience.

Dr. Manakkala Gopalakrishnan was honoured during the celebration by the granddaughter of renowned poet Ulloor S. Parameswara Iyer.

The short play Prahelika, scripted and directed by Vijayakumar Pillai, was met with enthusiastic applause and appreciation.

“The entire event was a grand success, made possible by the unwavering support of our members,” said Radhakrishnan Nair, founding member of NSS UK. “We look forward to your continued support as we move forward together.”
