Maha Shivrathri celebration at Kent Ayyappa Temple on Friday March 8

GILLINGHAM (Kent) March 5: The Kent Ayyappa Temple in the UK will be hosting a Maha Shivrathri celebration, a significant Hindu festival observed globally. This festival involves fasting and reciting hymns dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees believe that fasting and offering prayers during this time can bring them blessings and good fortune.

The celebration will take place on Friday, March 8th, 2024, starting at 6pm until 6am the following day, at the Scouts Hall on Castlemaine Avenue, Gillingham, ME7 2QL.

During the event, priest Abhijith will lead four Kala Poojas.

The rituals will be conducted in several sessions, with the first session scheduled from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, March 8th, 2024, followed by the second session from 10pm to 12am.

The third session will take place from 1am to 2:30am on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, with the final session occurring from 3am to 5am.

Priest Abhijith will oversee these ceremonies. Additionally, individuals interested in offering music and dance as Nivedhyam to the Cosmic Dancer Nataraja are encouraged to contact the coordinators or Temple Management Trust.
