Keralite from Thiruvananthapuram dies after attack in London: 16-year-old boy charged with murder

The incident happened at the junction of Uxbridge Road and Boston Road

HANWELL March 20: A Keralite in UK has succumbed to his injuries after being reportedly attacked by three other men in the early hours of Sunday 19th March 2023.

Reports from friends say that the deceased Jerald Netto (62) was subjected to serious assault by three unidentified persons on Sunday (19th March 2023) 12.30am.

Updated news today said that a 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder. Two others were arrested, a 16 year-old boy released without further action and a man in his 20s was bailed pending further enquiries.

Met Police named the victim as Jerald Netto, from the Southall area of Ealing.

Police have told his family, who are being supported by officers.

The incident happened at the junction of Uxbridge Road and Boston Road at 12.50am on Sunday.

Police established a crime scene in the aftermath of the attack and three men have been arrested in relation to the attack and remain in police custody.

Reports reeived by this website said that Gerald was one of the three brothers of Netto uncle who arrived from Singapore in the 60s. The eldest passed away several years back and Gerald was the younger with the middle brother Andrew Netto living in London.

Gerald Netto is survived by his wife, two grown up children and his elderly mother. Gerald and family having been living in Beachcroft Road in Southall.

The family is from Puthenthope in Thiruvananthapuram. More details are awaited and we will update as soon as we have them.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson said: “Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 and give reference 327/19Mar.

“Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
