LONDON Feb 29: A Keralite student who was deported from the UK for working more than the allotted hours during term time has received a letter from a debt collection company asking him to pay the outstanding tuition fees.

The email notification from ACT Credit Management Ltd said that if he doesnt pay the outstanding amount then they will start further enforcement actions using their network of agents and lawyers from where the student is.

The email said: “If you fail to agree payment terms to settle the outstanding amount, we have a network of local agents and lawyers and out client may instruct a local representative to commence legal action against you”.

The deported student, was studying at Salford University, wrote back to the debt management company stating that he wanted to study but due to him deported he couldnt continue.

The debt management company has now passed to the university and awaiting further instructions from them on how to proceed with this debt.

Therefore, this confirms that if you don’t pay your full tuition fees and if you have a balance due to the university, they will eventually get debt collectors involved.

Not paying full tuition fees can be a violation of Home Office visa rules for students in the UK.

Failing to pay full tuition fees can impact a student’s compliance with visa regulations in the UK and can affect their further stay or return to the UK.

Students facing difficulties in paying their tuition fees should immediately contact their university’s fees office to discuss their situation.

It is crucial to keep the institution informed and explore options such as setting up a new payment plan or requesting an extension if circumstances are dire.

In summary, not paying full tuition fees can result in the freezing of student status, withdrawal from the program, and ultimately the revocation of the student visa.

It is vital for students facing financial challenges to communicate with their university and explore available support options to address fee payment issues promptly.
