NEW DELHI Sept 28: The external affairs ministry has approved accepting financial aid from Netherlands for rebuilding Kerala. The external affairs ministry approved this after evaluating the norms and regulations of Netherland. A team from Netherlands can visit Kerala now following this decision.
Netherlands had promised the central government that they will give technical aid for rebuilding Kerala. This is not a financial aid.
A letter offering financial aid was sent by Netherlands minister for Infrastructure and Water Management. It was mentioned in the letter that they are ready to send a team to Kerala for evaluating the situation.
Primary priority will be given to implement the programs that were success in Netherlands during floods.
Meanwhile, ministers from Kerala are visiting several foreign countries in October for collecting funds for disaster relief activities and rebuilding Kerala.
The ministers will visit UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, USA and Canada and collect money from expats. Each team will contain a minister and several officials.
