WAYANAD, April 27: Two people, including a woman, were killed in an explosion at her house near Sulthan Batheri in Kerala’s Wayanad on Friday, police said.

Amina, 35, wife of Nasar, and their neighbour Benny were killed in the explosion at Naikatti, the investigating officer told PTI.

The nature of the explosion and other aspects were under investigation, police said.

Nasar was not at home when the incident occurred, they said adding neighbours, who heard the blast noise, found the mutilated bodies of the two and informed police.

The input received by the Intelligence Bureau claimed that the attacks will be in the form of serial attacks and will take place in trains.

It also claimed that 19 terrorists were present in Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu. The Bengaluru police received a call with threats of terror attack in eight states including Kerala.

The police chiefs of the respective states mentioned in the input have been informed and security beefed up there, said a source. DGP Loknath Behera has directed the district police chiefs to take necessary steps and be on high alert.

The input has put all the respective states under high vigil. Police personnel have been deployed immediately in large numbers in every nook and corner of the states.
