PAMBA Oct 19: Ayyappa Dharma Sena president Rahul Easwar appeared in a whats-app video on Friday to say that he along with about 20 Ayyappa Dharma Sena protesters were charged with non-bailable offence and were being taken to Kottarakkara jail.
“We are falsely implicated and the intention of the police is to put us behind the bars for many days….Even after 2 in the night we were not given anything to eat and we had to buy food.
Continue the fight of dharma for our Manikantan (Lord Ayyappa). Avoid violence and take to Mahatma Gandhi’s path of nonviolence while protesting.
Convey this message… I may not be able to talk to you in coming days…” he says in a video shot in dim light. He also look tired and exhausted in the video.
Rahul Eോswar, who was arrested from Pamba on Wednesday, was remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody today (Thursday). He has been charged with several offences including the one for deterring public servants from discharging their duty.
Rahul was produced in Ranni Magistrate court in the morning, after which he was remanded. It was Alappuzha South police who had filed a case against Rahul for allegedly attempting to riot.
He is also implicated for trying to create divide in society on the basis of religion and caste, in the name of Sabarimala agitation.
