LONDON Aug 4: As part of support for businesses and self-employed people during coronavirus, the UK government had introduced the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.
The discount scheme, which will run from 3rd August to 31st August 2020, will offer those who eat out in a restaurant in the UK, to get a 50 per cent discount on what they consume at the restaurant. The maximum discount available is £10 per person when you eat or drink in and not available for takeaways and alcohol consumed in the premises.
There is no limit on how many times you can use the discount, or for how many people, and it includes children. There’s no minimum spend and you don’t have to order food to be eligible. For example, a £3 coffee would cost £1.50 under the scheme.

Major chains including Pizza Express, Wagamama, Wetherspoons, Costa Coffee, McDonald’s and Nando’s are on the scheme.
The discount scheme is valid all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3rd to 31st August 2020 across the UK.
Click to find a restaurant within a 5 mile radius of the postcode you use. Customers will only receive the discount if they eat out at a registered business. Some restaurants may not have registered for the scheme yet and therefore please check before dining out.
The government will cover half of the cost of a meal out, up to £10 a head, including children’s meals. The discount means that a meal out for one that costs £20 will be reduced to £10, but a £25 meal for one will be slashed to £15 because of the £10 cap per person.
