17,788 persons licences cancelled last year in Kerala for rash driving

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 31: Kerala police have disclosed on its Facebook page that the driving licences of 17,788 persons were cancelled after they violated traffic rules.

They also say that strong action will be taken against traffic rule violators in order to curb accidents. Last year, in various accidents, 2035 two-wheeler travellers died. Most of them belonged to 18 to 25 age limit.

In last year, 40181 road accidents were registered. Out of that 4303 persons were killed and 45458 persons were injured.
