THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Aug 29: The State government is getting ready to take more concessional loans from World Bank.
The government will ask the World Bank team to give low-interest long term loans. Chief Secretary Tom Jose said that talks will be held with the team for raising money for rehabilitation activities.
Earlier, international financial firms including world banks had informed about their willingness to give loans for low interest rate.
However, Union minister of state for finance Pon Radhakrishnan and finance secretary Hasmukh Aadhi will be reaching Kerala tomorrow to consider the State’s demand for more financial aid.
Kerala will also demand Centre to increase its borrowing limit since big amount of money is needed for rebuilding the State.
Government circles said that the State will demand 10 per cent cess besides Gods and Service Tax.
