LONDON Aug 23: After their brilliant win at Lord’s, the Indian cricket team arrived in Leeds ahead of the third Test to start on Wednesday. The Indian cricket team savoured the Ona sadhya at the noted Kerala restaurant ‘Tharavadu’ in Leeds in Yorkshire.
According to report by Malayala Manaorama, the Indian cricket team, including other members of the Indian team, their family members and support staff, arrived along with head coach Ravi Shastri, captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma on Sunday 22nd August to savour the Ona sadhya.
The team members arrived around 1 pm local time and returned after spending two hours. The Indian contingent were provided breakfast and lunch during their stay in Leeds and after learning about Onam and Ona sadhya they decided to come to the restaurant and enjoy the meal.
The restaurant began operations seven years back by Pala native Siby Jose, Kottayam native Ajit Nair, Thrissur native Manoharan Gopal, Pala native Rajesh Nair and Udupi native Prakash Mendonka.
Virat Kohli had been to Tharavadu Restaurant in Leeds in 2014 as part of the England Tour and then he visited the restaurant alongwith with his wife Anushka Sharma for the Champions Trophy in 2019. Sanju Samson from Kerala, too visited Tharavadu twice during his stay in Leeds.
