MALAPPURAM April 20: There were attacks two times against Wayanad NDA candidate Thushar Vellapally at Malappuram and Wandoor on Friday. The attack happened between 5 and 7:30 pm.

In the first attack, the window panes of the car in which he was travelling were smashed. In the second attack waged with weapons, 15 party workers were injured. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Vandoor. However, Thushar was not injured in the incident.

NDA leaders alleged that the Congress and Muslim League workers had attacked them without any provocation and the reason for the attack is not known.

The first attack happened in the evening at Anjode Kalikavu Kallamoola. When Thushar’s motorcade was passing through the area, UDF’s meeting was also going on there.

The Congress and Muslim League workers who were present there jumped into the front side of the vehicles and blocked their way. For about 25 minutes, they blocked vehicles, shouting slogans and in the melee, the window of Thushar’s car broke.

BDJS workers who were with Thushar said that the attack was made in front of A P Anil Kumar and no effort was made by UDF leaders to prevent attackers.

The second attack at Poongodu near Wandoor town happened at around 7:30 pm.

As the car was climbing uphill, a team jumped into the front of the car with dangerous weapons. They attacked workers who were travelling on bikes in front Thushar’s car.
