KOCHI Aug 13: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh after aerial survey of affected areas said that the situation is very serious in Kerala due to floods. He assured the state all assistance from the centre to meet the challenges.
He conducted aerial survey of the flood affected regions of the state. CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister KJ Alphons were also with him.
After several continuous days of rain, floods and landslides, situation in Kerala has become a bit relaxed on Saturday, with an interval from rain and falling water levels in major dams. However, the State remains on alert, with over 60,000 persons displaced in four districts.
Rajnath Singh reviewed the search, rescue and relief measures taken by the Kerala government and central government agencies with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Ministers of the state government, the Chief Secretary besides the senior officers of the central agencies and the state administration.
