THIRUVANANTHAPURAM March 13: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s principal secretary Nalini Netto submitted her resignation following difference of opinion with chief minister’s political secretary.

She handed over the resignation letter to the Chief Minister. She was appointed as the principal secretary on April 1, 2017.

The real reason behind this is the cold war between her and certain higher-ups in the chief minister’s personal staff and in the government.

The resignation was handed over Tuesday noon and left that place but the chief minister is yet to take a decision on her resignation.

Nalini’s resignation has come soon after M V Jayarajan’s resignation as the chief minister’s private secretary following his appointment of Kannur district secretary.

Nalini Netto, who had resigned as the chief secretary, was posted under the same rank, as the chief minister’s chief principal secretary.

Earlier the instruction was that the files should be sent to the chief minister through Nalini Netto after her perusal. Initially this instruction was followed but over the past several months certain complicated files were not shown to him.

Certain top leaders in the office started taking decision over the files.

Nalini Netto had also complained to the chief minister that two such leaders might face corruption charges, but to no avail.
