THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Feb 20: As the controversy over the money spent for the conduct of Loka Kerala Sabha is raging, the accounts statement shows that Rs 83 lakh was spent for the food and accommodation for the delegates who attended the function.
Meanwhile, Raviz Group owner Ravi Pillai has said that his company doesn’t need the money spent for food. “Raviz group is forgoing Rs 80 lakh and therefore any controversy in this regard is unnecessary.
We had not asked for even a single rupee in this connection. We had no intention to take money from the government and we had just given a bill of the expense,” he said in a press note.
Ravi Pillai added that he and Raviz Group were part of the Loka Kerala Sabha and it was not right to take money from the government.
Loka Kerala Sabha was held from January 1 to 3.
