THIRUVANANTHAPURAM March 16: Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on Sunday launched ‘Break The Chain’ campaign promoting effective hand-washing techniques that can prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said facilities will be set up in public and semi-government offices, public sector undertakings and banks to allow employees and the public use of hand sanitizers or washing hands with soap and water before entering the buildings.
To do this, ‘Break the Chain’ kiosks will also be installed at the entrance of all major offices.
Residential associations and apartment homeowners must ensure that those who enter their buildings, homes or flats should make use of the facilities offered by a ‘Break the Chain’ kiosk and ensure that they are virus-free before entering.
If a virus-infected person touches a surface or gives a handshake to someone, that will cause a transfer of the virus.
‘Break The Chain’ campaign is an awareness urging people to wash hands frequently and in turn make it a habit, thereby curbing the virus.
Many celebrities have come forward supporting the campaign.
