Free Onam kit for 5.95 lakh families

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Aug 2: The Cabinet has decided to supply free Onam kits to 5.95 lakh families under Andyodhaya Anna yojana scheme.

The kits will be supplied through Supplyco. The expense for this is Rs 6.91 crore.

It was also decided to supply 81 lakh ration card holders with One kg of rice each at the cost of Rs 22.

The sugar will be given away through Ration shops.  Through this service, the government will incur an expense of Rs 14.72 crore.
