UK Malayalee Satheesan Appu surrenders to MET Police ending panic in East Ham and Ilford: thanked

LONDON May 10: UK Malayalee Satheesan Appu, who was wanted by the MET Police over a violent attack, handed himself in to the police on Thursday May 9, 2019, MET police investigating officer informed this website.

On May 8 detectives in London had released the image of Satheesan Appu wanted for a violent attack involving a hammer.

The MET Police press note said: “Satheesan Appu, aged 42, is wanted by detectives from the Met’s East Area Offender Management team following a vicious domestic assault in which he attacked his victim with a hammer, causing a facial injury. He is also wanted by police for threats to kill. Appu is known to frequent East Ham and Ilford, but could be in the greater Newham or Redbridge area. It is also believed that he currently has no fixed address and may be sleeping rough.

The chief investigating officer said: “The victim in this case remains very worried that Appu remains at large in London and we need the public’s help in order to locate and arrest him.”

Following the MET press note, on May 9 (yesterday) this website carried a news article which was shared within the Malayalee circles and word spread thick and fast about a Malayalee community member being on the lookout notice for wrong reasons.

Yesterday (May 9) around 2pm MET police contacted this website to inform us that Appu Satheesan has handed himself into the police station. The investigating officer thanked for’s prompt action to carry the press note, which he had seen, and he thinks would have put added pressure on the individual to surrender to the police station.

Information received says that the victim of Appu Satheesan’s attack was a female, who has been in this country legally.
